Heritage Center

This collection consists of materials relating to the Exchange Club of
Swainsboro from 1950-1980. Most dates are from the 1970s. Materials include photographs,
scrapbooks, directories, event programs, bulletin newsletters, as well as loose items.

This collection includes 10 Swainsboro High School newspaper, “Hi-Flyer”
articles from February 1930 - January 1931. Be aware that this isn’t a full-run since there are
missing issues in the collection

This content consists of materials related to personal papers for and from
businessman Robert Darling as well as photographs, letters from 1969-1970, Miscellaneous
newspapers from 1958, reports from 1965-1966, and Benjamin M. Ehrlich memorial service packet.

This collection consists of paperwork belonging to John C. Coleman and contains property listings, estate tax returns, deed documents, and estate records. There are also miscellaneous land records from Emanuel and Washington Counties, plantation lease documents between J.J Moring and W.S Cook, Property documents for Mrs. Luck C. Mitchell, letters, and the will and testaments of Frank Mitchell written in 1943.

This collection consists of copies of original documents in possession of the owner Roscoe Brown. The majority of the materials relate to the land and property owned by the Brown, Rountree, Sample, and Durden families of Emanuel County. The collection also includes miscellaneous documents, including: teachers' license, a Confederate bond receipt, a will made by Dr. Caleb L. Sample of Canoochee prior to his entry into the Civil War, as well as various letters.

This collection includes voter books for Emanuel County from
miscellaneous years between 1895-1904. The districts include the 35th, 58th, 1208th, 1333rd,
1502nd, & 1560th.

This collection consist of various miscellaneous letters involving James
Dorsey from 1978-1982, as well as newspapers, photographs of James Dorsey , and papers
related to an award for the history students in the area public schools, Tobe Coleman’s house
inclusion on National Register, and papers related to placing Josiah Davis house on the National Register.

This collection consists of family documents between the Key, Barwick, Woods, Sutton, and Peebles family. As well as land grant documents for the William little family and documents for the Drake plantation.

This collection consists of miscellaneous documents from 1773-1915, documents from Stillmore, stock certificates, photos, and school records. As well as Emanuel County documents from 1823-1956. It also contains census records from Emanuel County in 1850-1860 for the agricultural production, bibliographical information on various people, and the history of Adrian and Swainboro, Ga.

This collection consists of Jenkins county newspapers celebrating the County's history dated September 29, 1955 & October 2, 1980. Please be aware that no issues, and volume numbers are available in this collection.

This collection contains newspaper article for the 100th anniversary issue of a Screven County Newspaper published
on November 29, 1979.

This collection contains items from a scrapbook created by the Governor David Emanuel Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Content includes miscellaneous clippings, content from 1806, as well as documents from Governor David Emanuel from 1950.

This collection consists of letters to Joel J. Moring from 1902, as well as
obituaries for J.J. Moring and Ernest and Sanders Camp.

This collection contains materials relating to the Swainsboro chapter of the Kiwanis Club. Contents include various documents such as the 30th anniversary program, a talk by Ivey W. Rountree, and the charter night program from October 12, 1922.

This collection consists of brochures describing David Emanuel academy,
and an issue of the ‘DEA Times”. Please be advised that not all issues and volumes are included in this collection.

This collection consist of newspaper articles from 1930, various papers
delivered by the Georgia Historical society form October 24, 1981, and postcards relating to Jefferson County as well as papers relating to Cudjo Fye insurrection.

The brochures in this collection were collected since 1973 by the staff of the
ECJC Library and relate to all aspects of life in the county. This collection also consists of
Hoope River art and craft festival documents and various papers relating to Emanuel County.

The collection consists primarily of genealogical material collected by Mrs. Phillips’ mother, Mrs. S.L. Black, on various lines.

This collection contains copies of miscellaneous papers dealing with
Bert Clark's family, such as; deeds and land records, receipts for the Southern Telegraph Co. As well some documents form the Stillmore Methodist church.
