Finding Books

To search for books at the Reese Library, you will need to use the catalog, which searches for materials owned and located in the library - including books - and also journal titles, microforms, videos/DVDs/CDs, etc.

What's in the catalog?

  • Everything in the library except for online articles.
  • Titles of journals, magazines, and newspapers with info about our subscriptions, plus links

Click here to login to your GIL account and access your personal account to see how many books you have checked out and when they are due.

The GIL Universal Catalog

The GIL Universal Catalog is a single database of materials owned by all of the libraries in the University System of Georgia.

If a book that you want to request cannot be found in the Reese Library at Georgia Regents University, try searching for it in the GILUC.  When you find the title that you would like to request:

  1. click on the the GIL Express Request link at the top of the screen and
  2. fill out the form to complete the request.

You can request all types of books through the GILUC, not just those that are academic in nature, such as popular reading materials and new release books.

**NOTE** You need to login as an East Georgia State College Student using your EGSC student ID number, but make sure that you select the pick-up library as Georgia Regents University. If you do not change the pick-up library to Georgia Regents University, then the books will be delivered to the EGSC campus in Swainsboro. Once you have chosen the correct pick-up library, books will be delivered from other University System of Georgia institutions to the GRU Library for you to check out.
